is there a way to get more oxygen into the tank?

i know adding a powerhead can add O2 but that isnt an option. what about adding a larger return pump or adding lockline on the return in order to split the return water into two different directions thus spreading the O2 around the tank better

thanks

well there's the option of a bubbler in the tank (which i don't like myself). You could also add a skimmer. You just need to have enough flow to mix the oxygenated water on the bottom with the oxygen rich water at the top.

hmm. okay. well what do you have for flow? any powerheads?

what makes you think you need more O2? did you test the DO level? or Ph?

How about Ozone ?

ph is 8.0

i have my return line which runs into the tank.... flow is adequate but could be more... there is definately a fair bit of flow in there but it seems to be primarily in specific areas

i have a 3 inch pvc pipe in my sand bed for my morays

im worried there isnt enough flow going past the openings of the tubes thus providing oxygen to the eels.

the fish seem fine , but they swim around whereas the eel stays primarily in his pipe

Can you run your skimmer air intake out a window or something?Maybe not enough fresh air in your house.Or you can aim an existing pwr head at the surface to cause waves.

on my Euroreef i have a line running out in a window down in the basement and i can get my tank from 8.0 to 8.2 easy in a day it works great for me. I have 2 pumps running on so having one for sucking fresh air is a piece of cake.....

hmmm, ill buy a long line and run it to the window to see if that wil help
im a little worried that it will drop the temp of the tank

actually it doesnt bring the temp down hardly by the time the air hits the skimmer its warm again. its the fresh o2 that you want its a cheap way to brign the ph up..... i used ro line

hmm will that drive the pH too high?
