Hi everyone I have a 32 gallon tank with SPS, 1 Clam, some zoos and polyps. I have been dripping kalk for about a month now and my PH still wont go up to 8.3. It was before 7.4 it went up to 7.8-7.9, now that im dripping. But it wont go to 8.3. Secondly my clacium is 340. I have been dosing every 4 to 5 day maybe 6. But it still won't go up to 400. Should I dose more regularly. Should I put some in a 2L and drip slowly the Calcium. My calcium is sort of like rocks and I have to mix it with DI freshwater. If anyone can tell me how I can bring my Calcium and PH higher, I will be really happy:biggrin: . Thanks

based on a reefing calulator, you need approx 8.4L of saturated Lime water (aka Kalk) where saturated lime water is 2tsp per gallon. This is darn long drip in my opinion.

Buy some Kent turbo calcium and mix 3.7tsb and add it to your water. Your pH is ok IMO..should buffer itself after some water changes.

Good luck.

BTW here is the reefing calcutor:

I'm not clear on what your dosing. Are you only dripping kalk every 4 or 5 days? It should be dripped constantly as your top off water. You will NEVER keep up with ca/alk demand in a SPS and clam tank with kalk only. You need to switch to 3 part or get a calcium reactor (or both)
