I went to Revy and nearly passed out at the $16/sheet price listed there - and that's for an 18x24 sheet, too!

Yikes.

I need to build baffled for my sump, it almost seems cheaper to tear apart my old 10g tank than buy stuff to do it! Anyone have suggestions on where to go to get this stuff on the cheap in the Lower Mainland?

Danke!!! :)

It's funny how little people know this... Any place that deals with Acrylic (industrial plastics for example) will have a scrap bin. You can buy these scraps anywhere from cheap to free (three cheers for free!). The catch is that you have to finish the edges (not hard) and probably cut it yourself too (or know a friend who can do it for you). If you can do that, then you're set.

depending on the thick ness this is a pretty good price, 3/16" is usaly about 7.00 a sq^ft so your 18x 24 is 3 sq^ft so it would be about 21.00 here. if it is 1/4" you can add 6 bucks.

Awesome - Midknight has helped me out and we took some glass from, get this, a PICTURE FRAME.

Hooray for other people's garbage!!!

Anyway, I'll have the sump up and running this weekend if all goes well!! :) :)

Dennis - Do glass. It's not that hard to cut and it's way easier to find cheap scrap pieces, trust me =/

Dennis, Fiber tek on Boundary road has scrap bits, it's boundary and Kitchener so the Vancouver Burnaby boarder. IF you decide to try glass there is a place on the MaryHill Bypass that recycles glass and sells used glass, they always have scrap glass left outside the gate for free, yesterday there was a sliding glass door there, enough glass for a project or two I'd imagine.
