okay - so I'm still discovering more and more with this tank.

I've got these teeny starfish that are basically wedged into the little cracks in more than 2/3rds of the live rock (all the stuff in the tank originally) - they are very small, seem completely harmless - but y'know, I want to make sure.

Their legs look much more akin to the brittle star (who is just so cute in my tank, but always hiding, sigh) than a normal starfish.

They have stripes along their legs, sort of a "candycane" color.

Will again get a pic tomorrow night once the lights are on! :)

Mini Brittle stars. They're Reef safe, common, good sand sifter. They stay small.

Hrm - need to try and coax some out to the sane - none of them move from the rock, boourns!

And good to know they're safe, and darn they're cute :)

They're not sand sifters IMO.

They're detritus star fish. (Great scavangers to have.)

You'll see legs coming out all over the place at feeding time and see them blowing around in the current at water change time. :)

Yes, they are wonderful. At night you will see them let go and fly around finding new places to settle.
