i'm doing a mod to mount tunzes to wavy seas and i was wondering if this paint is 100% safe for reef tanks. i'm doing the same idea as fudge with his mounting idea but i was thinking of painting the pvc coupling.

Many have used it for many years...

My 65 is full of pvc painted in krylon epoxy enamel (built a manifold for the return). Been running just fine since 05...

You wont find any statistical data - krylon has no interest in marketing for aquarium use... Heck you can't even get silicone that doesn't say "not for aquariums" anymore.

Where can buy find Krylon paint? I purchased it from Home Depot in the past but they stopped carrying it.

Should be found at rona, canadian tire, walmart among many others... Not particularly hard to find.

I know... Such a hard answer to find... Seeing as all those threads are about this same question... and are all from the month of november 2006.

Golly - did someone step in your cornflakes this morning there? I know it's Monday, but .... Don't forget that 1) RC's search doesn't always let you in, 2) not everybody knows how to googlesearch RC, and 3) It's nice to have the knowledge content of THIS board grow, not just direct everyone to some American board. I see that come up time and again and frankly, we're a different board here, we don't need to send people off to other online resources when we have the knowledge pool here as well.

No Timmies? Well that's no good! Correct that at once! Tell your boss or anyone who questions it that I said it was OK to go get some. (Man now that you mention it .. I need some too!!!)

Any-hoo .... Hmmm Ok.. sorry my bad, I remember seeing "Krylon" many times but didn't remember a specific instance where it was specifically mentioned as safe to use under the waterline (mostly because apparently I wasn't paying close enough attention). Guess I just learnt something new too then.

That's my 65g FOWLR... Now you guys know me... I'm cheap - figure that's black PVC? That was taken march 14th 05, shortly before filling. There's a full 10' length of pvc in there... 12 assorted Fittings, all painted black with Krylon fusion epoxy enamel - I admit it, I liked the mention of "epoxy" better than the regular fusion...

No unexplained deaths (it was all that goshdarned 6bar that beat the crap outta everyone). Albeit not full reef. My 3g nano the intake for the AC300 is painted in leftovers from the 65... Should I go take a picture of my hair algae / coral farm?

My urchin chewed it off my Mag-Brush that I had painted and he's still alive.
So one would conclude that after curing its pretty much inert.
