View Full Version : my newest custom long 15 gallon
so i picked up my new tank today, and i just finished setting it up, i still need to add a bit more water though. its 36 inches long by 13 inches deep and 7 inches tall, i really like this style of tank, gives you a lot of space. i am adding little bit more sand as well. and yes that is a blue tang in my tank that i am treating for a disease, once its better its going back to its owner in the proper sized tank. i know the lighing looks horrible i need to order a longer light just not sure what kind of lighting im going to go with
i needa little more live rock too

That's a very cool looking tank. Must be a custom. The area of a 33g but only 7" tall. Cool.

very cool...once you get a nice sleek light the length of it, it will look very very cool! Easy to light too as it isn't overly deep. Nice!

Is it eurobraced? If it is you probly/deffinitly coulda gotten away with no bracing.
Also looks really nice, kinda showy feeling. Very Cool
thanks guys
yes i eurobraced it, just as a splash guard, and its just nice to have, as far as lightng i'll probably just go with some sort of 36" PC lighting

Totally unique tank. I wouldn't spoil it by adding too much more rock, though. Less is more in such a sleek tank.

Really cool. You worried about jumpers though?
no i think its deep enough that they wont jump, once the new lights on there won be much space to jump out

How did that new rock work out for you, did you get it arranged?
Did you pick up that Royal Gramma you were talking about yesterday?
Tank looked good yesterday anyway.
updated with my rock layout, im pretty happy with how it looks
im thinking about getting the same 96 watt PC light but just 36" long, having 96 watts right now seems to grow everything awsome

I think you should go with 2 96 watt PCs.
The light you have now seems to maintain your current corals but I bet you would see more colour and better growth with more lighting.
okay well i got my light in today, it really makes a differnce you can see across the whole thing

Nice tank! As Tony said you may have some jumpers.
filtration is simple, an xp1 canister closed loop going up to 3/4 bulkheads
hidden in the corner is a maxijet 900 to get flow across the tank, just using carbon in the canister
heres my newest guy strawberry dottyback
and some other pictures of corals and stuff
dont mind all the white crap i the tank it was dinner time

Looking better all the time. I really like the idea of a long shallow tank.
...............Dave.
Looks cool.
Quite a fish load for a 15g tank though wouldn't you say?

Looks awsome, I like the colour of the frogspawn.
5 fish is a lot mind you the gobby is small.
Keep an eye on your water quality for spikes
well so far so good on the fish load
really 4 fish that have a larger bioload i think its pretty safe, im maxed out though
doing roughly 10% water changes weekly
i have had a weird pairing in my tank, my tang follows my clown everywhere, she sont leave his side, its pretty funny how they have became buddies, (woah finding nemo!) heres some shots of them together and my frogspawn now that its open
