You can get fans that have a little temp probe, they work good.

Better yet get a ranco temp controller and have that control your fan/s. That is what I use on my sump.

Ice cap puts out temp controlled fans but they are a tad expensive

I agree. I have an Ice Cap fan and love it. They are more expensive but worth the cost. They have an automatic variable speed depending on the temperature (not adjustable) and are also silent.

Hey all! thanks so much for the replies...I am ordering one from J&L tomorrow so I can ease my mind (and for peace of mind $64 is cheap!)

...changed pumps to a quieter one knowing that I may have a few more heat issues but it is much higher than I anticipated! Again...thanks!

ALSO-with the Ice Cap fan...if you have one....is it quiet or loud? as the volume is important!

There are some on e-bay as well 3" for 15.99, triple 3" 31.99. I don't know how loud they are but I was thinking about one for my projector.

Has anyone tried any of these?

I use 2 icecap fans, I wouldnt say they are quite but the variable speed is great.

I would just run the fan on a timer. Hell of a lot cheaper, and after about 2 days of tweaking, you could have it exactly how you need it. I run my fan alternating between 15 min on, 15 min off, with it about 30 min off every 45 min or so. Keeps it at a good temperature that way, and way cheaper than a $100+ temperature controller.

I just put my canopy fan on the same timer as my MHs.

Ok, I just cleaned all the dust out of my fans and they actually are silent.
