I guess this all started last year, with posting carved pumpkins so here are a few of ours for this year

Wow... how long did that take?? Those are incredible.

I'll post a pic of ours tonight.. just a basic carving though.. nothing like this.

We did some up last night too. I'll have to snap a pic or two.
Man what a flippin' mess.. pumpkin seeds and guts all over the place.

hehe.. Good thing we only do this once a year.. :mrgreen:

Now THAT would be a mess and a half. A coarse tooth blade works best, whether its on a knife, saw, sawzall...

Dremel used to sell a pumpkin carving tool which you could get at Home Depot or Rona this time of year. Don't know if they still do. They're an incredibly keen little miniature version of the Dremel tool. How cool is that? :)

I think she used just a very small toothed blade. I know she asked fro the dremel but never heard it ;)

Just did some freehand stuff this year due to not having a whole lot of time .. Linda's is the lava monster, mine is the cat :lol:

i seen the pumkin dremel too at walmart for 30 or 40 buck but im not buying one. here's what the wife made

Here's the four I carved, just winged it. The small ones are white pumkins, pretty neat in daylight.

And I learned a new trick this year; Instead of cutting the top out of the pumkin, cut the bottom out, with a notch for proper replacement. That way your "lid" is actually the base, you put the candle on it, then lower the jack-o-lantern onto the base using the notch to match them up. Much cleaner look, and easy candle lighting. You probably all do that already, I'm kinda slow on the uptake.

i made this a few years back- funny thing is, i live in calgary- and it never got kicked in! i had parents booing from the road though.
