thinking of getting one of these.
http://www.jlaquatics.com/phpstore/store_pages/details/creactor.php?product_ID=DD-CR0500

I was initially going to run my 120 gallon tank as a planted tank, so I've got a solenoid, a bubblecounter/needle valve, AND a ph controller kicking around. (well, i'm using the ph controller as a monitor)

so the $75 price is becoming quite attractive. I wasn't going to spend $250 on a calcium reactor set since I already have 75% of the components.

how's the rowalith c+ medium? does it dissolve fast with use? the reactor comes with about 6 lbs of medium. anyone know how long this would last, or should I buy 6 kg of media from the get go?

I'm aiming to keep mostly LPS and softies, so I don't see a high demand for calcium, just I hate the nightly ritual of mixing kalk, and fighting with clogs in airline tubing...

but I think if I get this, and an RO solenoid for auto-top off (run on a timer. i think they're more reliable than float switches), then it'll be an end to my daily top off and kalking chores :D

I'd say jump on it & fast. But you'll no doubt find that that's a misprint on the website. It used to sell on J&L for $709.00 so I'm guessing it's now $704.95. If you check Deltec USA (http://www.deltecusa.us/calciumreactors/pf501.php) that model is currently selling for $620 U.S.

I'd order 50 of them at that price. LOL

i think I'll follow through my initial plan and build one using a whole house filter or something.
