I have a bunch of hairy mushrooms that i am looking on getting rid of. What is a good method for removing them? i have read everywhere "remove the rock and skim a layer of rock off at the foot". However, i was trying to find a less involved or invasive way of doing it. Are there any anenome's that will keep them at bay by stinging them? fish that have a taste for them?

im sure you could cut them off and sell them, but most fish or inverts that like mushrooms will also enjoy your other corals
when getting rid of them you need to scrub off where they were once connected to the rock or else it will just regrow

If you damage them enough, they don't regrow. Most mushrooms aren't as robust as Aiptasia.
