I am looking to purchase a more powerful lighting system then my PC 4x65. Due to the size of my 72 gal bowfront the PC Halide will not fit under my canopy because they are 15inch wide. I have been looking at the Current USA 48" Orbit Extreme 4x130 Watt Power Compact. Has anyone purchase this fixture and what are some of your opinions. It seems to give a good amount of light to keep a wide varity of hard and soft coarls for my 19in tank height from water to sand bed. Plus it appears that this fixture does not put out as much heat as the PC or Halides.
Or am I best to just get rid of the canopy and hang halides from the ceiling? Just want to keep my options open.
I am looking for any and all opions.

Have you ever considered an HO T5 unit? They're crazy PAR monsters.

Are you able to house those under a canopy or do you have to hang them?

T5s are like any other florecent bulb, but higher par. They usually come in a fixture like the coralife hoods for PCs.

Can anyone suggest a good brand and a place in which to purchase T5's.

Ocean Aquatics sells the excellent Teklight line from Sunlight Supply.

i have the 8 bulb, 4' sunlight supply tek light, and it's BRIGHT... very bright. i'm probably going to swap out some of the "PAR monster" bulbs for half-intense pure actinics... it's just too bright for my LPS/Softies.
I bought the lights because in my nano, lighted by PC lighting, I couldn't put anything in the bottom half of the aquarium. now in my 120 gallon, I can't put anything in the top half of the aquarium :D
