Cool, but that can't be too healthy for the tank or the stand. That thing was swaying side to side atleast 1/4 inch. I wonder about the effects on a typical tank/stand with 8 to 10 hours a day of rocking back forth like this would do?

I don't think the effect was, in no way, meant as a functional demonstration, but rather a show to highlight the capabilities of the pump. That pump kicked up a 10" wave in a 2' space in less than ten seconds! That's something the wavebox cannot even come close to achieving.

Nor two Tunze 6100's with a multicontroller I might add. That really is something.

quick question for you guys, does the wave effect come installed in the standard controller for the vortech or is it an option? after seeing this display i'm considering one for the one end of my 265 for the wave motion.

They'll need the controller to generate this effect. That said, they have a built-in manual controller preinstalled.

I heard from some early beta testers of these units that there were problems like the inside part getting off synch with the outside part i.e. the magnets didn't hold them perfectly in place and they began to spin erratically.

and they began to spin erratically

I also had that issue but it was quickly fixed by the manufacturer with a new wet-side gasket.

Any idea how much the controller is going to be?

I'm told that all those issues have been resolved with the latest batch of pumps.

Who knows eh?

But I'll have a few to play with early next week, so we'll see.

All those issues have been fixed some amazing improvement ,also I was playing with the controller @ MACNA & was very impressed ,the boys from vortech say the controller will be out early next year with manual & preset options .difference between this controller & tuze would be that with tunze the controllers function is a box wave so if you put it on 30% (first setting) & 100% (second setting) it will switch between those 2 points ,with vortech you are dimming the pumps up or down between those 2 ponts therefore less shock to the pump.
Also if you have the older version of the pump please contact any of our retailers you purchased it from inorder to get the gasket.we have limited number of replacement gasket be here in 2 weeks.
Although Tunzes could be controlled the same way with Profilux computer.
