I have just setup my overflow box and it is running pretty good. It does make a heck of a lot noise, and I was wondering if anybody had any ideas to make it make less noise.

It currently has no lid, which I am hoping to fix tomorrow, by custom making one tomorrow.

Is it normal for these overflow designs to make this much noise?

yes, they make lots of noise until you build a durso style cap for it. Do a search for Durso and you'll find directions to build it.

thanks guys...I just made a makeshift cover for right now to muffle some of the noise...then I cut a piece of pipe and made it the length of half of the depth of the overflow box and jammed it in there. I will install it properly tomorrow with drilled holes and everything...I am just happy that it doesnt sound like a toilet flushing now:D
