I'm looking into MH bulb prices. I'm not ready to buy just yet I'm only trying to figure out my budget (is that laughing I hear?). Anyway I need 2 175 watt 10000k bulbs. I went to a lighting store and the price they gave me was $130 each. Where else can I look? I have read some suff about great prices being found on ebay but I havent checked it out yet. Would anyone be interested in a group order to save on shipping? If ebay is the way to go I will put up a post about a group ebay order.

Thanks

I have not used these (http://www.jlaquatics.com/phpstore/store_pages/details/bulbs.php?product_ID=lb-hx171) bulbs before but the price is almost half of what you mentioned.

Those are the ones from Lights64? Just brought 2 175w 14000k SE bulbs in from him, pretty decent color, tho for some reason one ballast makes one appear really yellow (swap bulbs that side is still yellow). Not sure whats up with that, the other side is a nice crisp color.

Yeah I think those are the ones. Glad to hear you are happy. Too bad about your ballast problem. Do you mind telling me what the total cost was? I think I will be getting a couple myself.

Thanks

Got my bulbs today (2 175w 14000k). Took about a week to get here. When looking at the ebay page for lights64 I found a 1-800 number I just call em up and placed an order. My tank is not up and running yet but I did try out the bulbs and I think they look great. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction

Mine showed up in about a week from placing my order. They didn't come right to my door I had to pick them up from the nearest Canada Post outlet. I think they look great, bright and just the right amount of blue. I do not have a lot of experience but as far as I can tell they are just what I need.

Yep if you're not there with cash in hand (exact change no less) for the duties, you're stuck visiting the depot...

Mine were in the 2 week ballpark, but I remember watching tracking show them sit in customs for 4 days (So basically half the time - given 5 working days in a week).

Mine were here in about a week, right to the door, no extra charges. Very happy with the colour.
