hi, i'm having troubles with my jager heater. ive got three of them and yet regardless of the setting on the heater, the tank stays at 82 degrees. ive tried all three seperately and even if you have it set at 75 degrees the heaters come on and off to maintain the temp.
am i missing something with the little blue pull up tab on the heater or ????
this should be something simple.....as on my other tank, i have a different brand and no issues

Im not shure whats going on? with your tank and heaters but one thing i would recomend doing with any new heater is to put it in a tub or spare aqarium and moniter the temp for a few days so you can dial in the heater without effecting the tank, if you get the water to warm all you have to do is cool it with a few bukets of cold water.

All my Jager Heaters perform very poorly. I have thrown out 1 already that was stuck on. Yesterday the one I use in my Holding tank had the water @ 88 Degrees but was set to 76 :(

It's off to the trash as well. I am going to try another brand.

If they are stuck on would it be cheeper to pick up a controler and run that instead ot picking up a bunch of new heaters?

The blue pull tab is used to calibrate it. If it is pulled out it doesn't matter where you turn the dial it won't change the temperature. So...push the blue button in and adjust the dial over a couple of days until you get the right temperature. Then you can pull the tab out and turn the dial until it is at the known temperature and push it back in.

Yup, if your tank is at 82, pull the tab out as far as it will go, turn the dial till the arrow points at 82, push the tab all the way back in, then adjust your temp. down. Mine works great, I've got two.

With mine it seems that either the tab is REALLY hard to pull out (I don't want to break them) OR it is already out (but I don't think so).

Whatsup with that!?!?

The button is really hard to pull out with just your fingers.

The easiest method I've found is to wedge a butter knife into the button's groove and pry it up.

Yeah, I use Needlenose pliers from the Frag Kit.
