Well I am once again going to try to see the interest level in having a reef meet at the end of the month.
I would be willing to host and was thinking off doing a DIY Live Rock Demo...
Let me know what people think and what day would work best.
I am looking at the evening of Sept 30 or Sunday the 1st

Either Saturday or Sunday evening would be okay with us, as far as I can forsee.

I don't have any frags for trading, but would be interested in buying a few select SPS frags.

Friday would work better for us than Saturday. Sunday is usually OK too, but I like the Friday idea.

So then, the meeting will be at 7 pm at 29 Sept 06 at my house
I am thinking the idea of DIY live rock will work well and I already have more than enough supplies for everyone.
I will also have tonnes of zoo frags and a few other frags available.
Maybe sell of a few of my ricordia and such.
Lets have a great meet and maximum participation and trading.
BTW, I am open to trades on the frags if people have something in mind pm me
I will let everyone know my address next week.

I will try and make it. I am new to the hobby and I would be very interested to hear various points of view on various topics. Never swaped a frag and just learned what a frag was about two weeks ago. At this point I am more of a poker player than a frag swaper.

If people want to bring some snacks or drinks..that would be great.
I will also be giving a 20.00 gift certificate for inverts as a door prize.
Sounds like we are going to have a big crowd, which is great.
BTW, I live in the hood and my address is 8305 117 ave for those of you haven't been there before.
I am trying to get together as many frags as possible for everyone as well.
I will try to post some pictures of the zoo frags that I will have available.

Hi Neal,

Just-in-case I am lost (Edmonton is not my hometown), could I get a phone # from you? I am driving from Lacombe, AB. Unfortunately, Lacombe is too small to have a salt community, so I have to join you guys in the big city. See you Friday night.

Just so everyone knows to bring lots of cash (if they want frags that is) I just made about 50 zoo frags last night along with a couple of GSP and Colt coral frags
I will try to post pics of the zoos later today
I must say though that most are nicer than what I have seen at the LFS and are equilivant to or better in some cases to what frag factory has.

Hey does anyone have a camera that would take some good pics of my setups and zoos?
I tried taking some pics with my digi and they just aren't turning out.
If someone is willing to bring one to the meet that would be great
thanks

I was wondering if some people wanted to bring their hydrometers and Ph Monitors.
I just want to make sure that mine are reading properly.
My ph monitor always reads less than the test results from my test kit.
This way everyone can make sure that theirs are reading properly.
Dad, if you could bring the camera that would be great
thanks

Thanks, Neal! It was great fun, and great to see everyone. It is a bit tough to place frags in the dark, but we managed (maybe that's why we've done these in the daytime before?)

Safety4Fire: I'm afraid we sold your boyscout frag before you arrived... very sorry, but if you PM me, I'll find you a frag next time we're moving that rock around!

Best to everyone,
Matthew

Thanks so much for hostig the meet, Neal! It was great to get over to your place and see how well your 3 billion tanks are doing! Love to see all the reefers too - yay! Had to over-ride the lights but all creatures are now settled in. Thanks again - lots of fun :)
