I just put in my order for an Aquatronica controller package from Aquarium Obsessed. In case anyone else has been considering one, they have a group order going on through Reef Central. Its a pretty good deal at $100 US off and free shipping plus 10% off accessories.

I can't wait til I get it now :multi:

Do you have a link for it on RC?

I wouldn't be worried about the $100 off, it is the amount that is left that scares me.

It's such a good deal I ordered one, along with a 210g starphire tank, Infinity XR4 3x250MH light with ACLS etc. Should be built and arriving in 2 months.

Thanks. I'm in Winnipeg (updated my profile). Just starting out. Should have a 67g tank setup for softies in a week or two and while that's happening I'm accumulating stuff for a 210g SPS tank. I used to breed/sell Discus but got tired of f/w and sold all my tanks. I was left with a couple and decided that if they didn't sell I'd try s/w for a change. No sooner did I decide that and the damn tanks sold. So I'm starting fresh with all new equipment. The 67g tank will be done on a tighter budget but the 210g will be a little larger, ha.

There is a thread under Aquarium Obsessed in the sponsors section. The group order deal is also on their web site, but only if you select to shop in US dollars. You can order in Canada, they will just convert the amount when they bill.

Yah, it is pricy stuff, but I was going to buy one anyway. Finally getting the extra cash (backpay) I've been expecting. Saving money just makes it better.

How does it compare (+'s,-'s) to Neptune's Aquacontroller

How does it compare (+'s,-'s) to Neptune's Aquacontroller

- price (Neptune has some lower budget models available)

+ more flexible configuations, ie sensors, & optional control modules (biggest reason I chose it over the Neptune)

+ better programming, more stable (according to reviews of others)

= availability

I've been running one for a year now. Infact, I was one of the first few in North America with this controller. The first little while was a bit bumpy but the company is awesome and with a few firmware updates they had things figured out.

I highly recommend this controller and it'll even more attractive in a month or so. (once the ethernet/webserver module is out)

Ed,
I would love to see it once it is set up. I am considering one as well for some time in the near future. Let me know when I can invite myself over.
Thanks,
