 I have a 230g tank, and am experiencing a problem with algae on the glass. Can someone suggest a quick and long-term fix for this problem?

what kind of algae is it? What color is it?

Also - is your tank marine or freshwater?

Salt water, green.

If it is just a thin covering then all you can do is dump a whole bunch of turbo snails in there to help you clean the glass...and you will need to invest in a magnetic glass cleaner and go over your glass every few days...

Unfortunately, algae is a main stay in any healthy saltwater aquarium so all you can do is clean it frequently

As psuedo said, buy some snails and invest in a mag float (magnet cleaner) . Everyone gets green film on their glass. I have to clean mine about once every 3 days, sometimes more often.

Is your tank a new setup? If so, you may see more film algae than usual, but it will slow down in time. Using RO/DI water will help, as well as keeping nutrients low by feeding less.

I think your just seeing normal film algae though... everyone gets it :)

Cheers.
