Ok, I thought I'd try and get some good shots of my Mantis, but it was a failed attempt. He refused to stick his head out of the lair any more than what is shown below :grr: While I was at is though I did take a few decent shots of his tankmate.

One eye on me the other on his escape route back into the tunnel...

His bold, yet mentally challenged tankmate, Herman the Hermit:

did you say tankmates? im thinking thats not so good of a idea if you wanna keep them both,my hermit is the size of a baseball and lives in a 67g by himself, and i still dont think id put a mantis in with him unless it was a fight to the death

To be honest I got the Hermit Crab to keep the tank cycled for use as a hospital/QT tank, but then the opportunity to get a Mantis came up. Right now they are both very small, the Mantis probably being a little over 1" long and the Hermit Crab maybe twice that. The Mantis keeps to his lair and when the Hermit does happen to venture too close it's quickly chased off. Not worried about any battles for the time being.

Once the Mantis starts getting larger I may have to consider different arrangements.
