I am new to the hobby, have been keeping FW tanks for years, but now want to try my hand at a SW tank. So far from what I've gathered lurking around the forums AI an BA are the most frequented stores, but living and working on the north side does not afford me many opportunities to check them out. Has anyone checked out Aquagiant? How do the relate pricewise and for quality?

Being new and still somewhat baffled by everythingneeded to run a SW tank I really don't want to get snowed and buy poor quality livestock and equipment at a premium cost. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

Last time I was at Aquagaint was FW only but hear they're starting SW, but if you are considering them, AI is the same area.

I know they are lots here that say support your LFS but do consider places like OA and J&L though on the coast, including shipping still save a buck (eg. just ordered a bulb, $149 here, $82 on-line).

Should also pay attention to the Buy and Sell forums here on Canreef. Seems us reefers are always upgrading so lots of stuff available for those starting out.

And as to try to remove some of the baffles, try to check out some peoples tanks (you'll find some great ones that are setup rather basic), and a few good books and sites like WWM or invaluable.
