Either one that you currently have or one you wish you had. I thought about this for a while and can only narrow it down to 2. I have a Moorish Idol that I did not order but agreed to take and try and have had it now for just about a year. He has personality and will show up in just about every picture I take of that tank - his name is Elvis. My other favorite is a Goldflake Angel. Other than the 2 firefish he is the smallest fish in the tank but someone forgot to tell him that. He is plucky - right in the middle of the Nori free for all. The tank he is in also gets some direct sunlight and he just sparkles gold with a brilliant blue outline.
So what is yours?

Mine is the Moorish Idol too. I've also had one for almost 2 years before it outgrew my tank and is now in EmilyB's tank. I think she's had it longer than I have now. My next 2 favorites are Blue Ribbon eel and Pinnatus Batfish which I have not kept (And not planning to).

I'm with ya on the Moorish Idol...I had one ...then my Purple Tang chose to kill it after they had lived together for the entire time peacefully...it's part of why we started a salt water tank..I do love Porcupine Puffers too...they're so damn cute!

porcupine puffer or vol. lionfish, the reason I started a saltwater tank was because I wanted a nice big lionfish...well, still no lionfish...or even a tank big enough to put one in...

I dunno, as lame as it's going to sound , the true percula clownfish is what won me over. I still find them to be some of the most beautiful , peaceful, hardy, fish .. I love my clownfish. If not a clownfish then a mandarin goby would be my second... can't beat those colours, and the way they swim.. too cool.

Interesting thread. I'm going to have to vote for my sixline. It is so active, and full of curiousity.

I would have to vote for the clown goby. I want to start a nano again just to keep one again.

Out of the fish I've seen anyway in tanks, the scooter blenny is still propably my favorite. I love how he hides in the sand and jumps out at you, and how detailed he is at finding (and it seems enjoying) tiny pods for food.

My naso tang would be second. Very cool fish, and I LOVE his colors.

That jawfish is really cool.I will have to go a few of the most under rated fish there is.Gold and grey dogface , a longhorn cow , and a blue box and a black box.I own the dog,the huge cow,Ive owned a blue and a black box but could not get the box fish to live.So the last 2 are the ones I need but cant seem to have.

My Royal Gramma keeps me glued to the tank most evenings. She stuffs herself through small crevices and tunnels in the rock and rips tufts of algae out that she brings back to her nest. Two fish I'd like; Copperband Butterfly and Magnificent Foxface.

I think my favourite fish of all time was my potter's angel. I lost mine due to a defensive ritteri anemone causing a total tank wipeout.

Also I think fairy wrasses are among my favourites too.

Seahorses (well duh) :)

Also love Yellowhead Jawfish, Twin spot gobies, Cherub angel, & my fav. Elongate tang (A. mata). That last one grew from a 1" baby to a 11" sub-adult in 11 months, but died when we moved to the new place. It's death is the reason I shut down my fowlr tank.

Of all the fish I currently have, my flame hawkfish is my favorite. No wait, my coral beauty angel... no no make that my yellow watchman goby with her pistol shrimp mate. Actually strike that, my poor old yellow tang that was my first ever fish is tops. Well actually now that I think about it, maybe its my tomato clown, attitude and grumpiness and all or for the same reason my domino damsel. I really like the school of green chromis too, they always rush to the front of the tank when I come near, very freindly lot.

Now if I was to get a naso tang it would certainly become my favourite, but only if I did't get a purple tang too. And a school of anthias would be pretty hard to beat. Maybe a flame angel, or a.... well I could go on all day.

There are just too many cool fish that I don't have to pick a favorite. If I were to chose one of my current fish it would be my reagal tang.....today, because he thinks he's a clown and tries to host my Seabae anemone.

Yup, me too. Regal Tang gets along with everybody, swims around showboatin' and eats like a pig! He's the first successful one I've had, definately a keeper! :) Although I just got a nice big blonde naso, but we'll see when he's actually in the main tank :)

Hmmm... not one vote for a Powder Blue Tang in the lot? I'll cast mine... BUT... I have to concur... Percula Clowns were the fish that got my attention and even though they don't fit with my style of reefkeeping now, I still have 4... one of the future plans is to set up a tank just for them and get them out of my turbulent reef... I just can't bring myself NOT to keep them... ahhh... where DOES the money go?

Of all the marine fish I've kept, I would have to say my Regal Angel. He's something of a conversation stopper when people enter the room!

Here's a picture - taken this afternoon. He's been in the tank for over a year.

My favourite fish would have to be 2 fish when they are together. A pair of mated percula clownfish. I have a pair in my FO tank and they are interesting to watch. My second favourite is the Picasso trigger. The trigger has great personality, hand feed etc.
