Well out of sheer politeness to my fellow reefers, and after I purchased 2 more, I will let you in on a little secret.

So I purchased the last of the 1/2 price, $15.00 ballast's at Home Depot a few month's ago.

Low and behold they must have found more in the back of the store as they now have a few more up for the pickings.I was there yesterday and I believe they had 7 or so. I purchased 2, 1 for my refugium and 1 just to have.

The HD I am refering to is the one in shawnessey shopping center.

Yeah, but will they be there tomorrow? Is either of you southerners going there tonight? If so pls grab me a couple - if not I'll try to make it tomorrow. :D

Jon, what is the make/model number on the ballasts?

They are
PHILLIPS
4 BULB T8 ELECTRONIC BALLAST.

I am not at home now so I can not give the exact # but they are the only $15.00 ballast and they are marked with a big yellow sign.

Actinics are so dim ... need more light ...

Tony - if you're going tonight, be a good man and grab them ALL.

I wasn't able to go tonight, did some last-minute babysitting.

I should be home tomorrow at that time. But if it's possible please call first just so that I don't suddenly make a mad dash to the hardware store or something like that (usually have 2 or 3 of these each weekend ... like I really need another excuse! :D )

Alas, they are now sold out. I managed to grab the last two. I hope everyone who wanted some was able to get them.

I wonder why they were trying to unload them?

something to do with people purchasing fixtures instead because the fixtures were cheeper than the ballast's. Dont quote me onthis but that's what i heard through the grapevine. :confused:
