Definately go with Salifert kits.

Yup, Salifert. A little more money but what's an inaccurate reading worth? Not much. Better to get something that will actually let you see what your water conditions are like.

If you're buying multiple test kits, the internet will probably be cheaper, but don't forget shipping costs.
I agree with everyone else, the salifert test kits rock compared to the hagen ones. I didn't find anything wrong with the accuracy of the hagen calcium kit, but one drop, shake, one drop shake, and repeat for 10 or 15 drops sucked compared to the ease of the salifert one. I did run a test on my water with the test kits side by side and the variance was less than 5ppm. Older test kits of any brand can be inaccurate compared to a new one.

Ditto on the Salifert test kits. The only exception I would recommend is a PH monitor/controller as that is something that should be monitored closely. Pinpoint or Milwaukee are both good

I think that covers most of the big ones. Price will depend on which kit you're looking at.
