I would like a couple of buckets also. I would really like to try Seachem Reef Salt if anyone has a reasonable source? http://www.seachem.com/products/product_pages/ReefSalt05.html

My last couple of buckets or IO has been buffering my water at around 7.9 is anyone else having this problem and have to add ph buffer to their new salt mix?

I guess that being said I would be in for a couple reef crystals if no one has any lines on seachem.

Thanks
Eric

Hi All.

If you can manage to get 12 buckets for an order, I can ship Seachem Reef salt to one address for $60.00 per bucket plus GST.

PM me if your interested...

OK well dont say i didnt put in the effort.........i tried doing some more searches but came up with nothing.

I am going to stick with Reef Crystals, not worth the $20 difference.

Haha, oh your a hero Steve  Just kidding... but others might have wondered about those paramaters for reef salt.

I actually don't need salt. I just bought a bucket of IO, but I have wanted to try this new Seachem formula.

I am using it on my 190g and like it so far. I posted in the product reviews about what kind of reading I am getting with freshly mixed up salt and it's been consistent. I am also using the Tropic Marin Pro salt on my other tanks and I actually like it better as far as how my tank has responded.

You like the Trpoic Marin Pro better Ruth?

Ruth
04-13-2006, 08:07 PM
Yes I do actually. I don't know if it is the additional trace minerals in the TM salt but I suspect it is. The readings are actually fairly close as far as the normal stuff I test for (Ca. Mg. and Alk.) so I am only giving a subjective comment as it is nothing I can really put my finger on but once all of the Seachem is gone (and I still have lots) I am going to switch everything over to the TM pro salt.

Hey you Calgarians
if you guys can sort out what and where you are buying and have it ready by April 27th, I'll offer to pick them up and drive them down for a small fee (to help compensate my insanity of renting a van and driving 22 hours to pick up a fish tank).
I prefer either JL or OA for the group buy - sorry IPZ but you are across the pond.
Let me know guys.

Any update on this? I am definatley in for 1 buck, sechem reef is fine for me. I'd like to get it sooner, if possible (any chance for late this week?).. I'd get it delivered to my place, but have no room for a pallet of salt, unfortunatley. Maybe we could tally up all the people who are in so we can see where we are at....

I am in for 1.

prosnow
04-16-2006, 05:43 PM
well i guess majority rules for this one, i'm in for either seachem or io, and i can get it delivered to my house 2, lots of room for lots of salt :)

pm me with what your most interested in and how many pails your in for, and we'll see what the majority is.

Do we have a price for IO? Where did you want to get it from?

I am definetly in for 2 buckets of Seachem. I really dont want to keep using IO, so I am looking to try anything different. Even reef crystals would be fantastic.

I can recieve an order of salt also if needed.

Thanks

$37.97 - instant ocean
is what i got quoted from JL, just waiting for a reply on the total cost of 12 or 24 pails with gst and shipping

prosnow
04-17-2006, 05:03 AM
SeaHorse_Fanatic and Chin have offered to pick it up from JL and bring it down here when they come to pick up chin's new tank, so i'm sure the shipping wont be to much either way..

Thats cool so lets put this order together now.

prosnow
04-18-2006, 12:39 AM
okay, so JL is still trying to figure out how much shipping is going to be, but the price of IO after GST is going to be $43 bucks a pail, plus shipping...i have NO clue how much shipping is going to be from JL or how much chin is willing to do it for. if we all pay $51 that will be $96 for gas money to bring it down, i'll even chip in the extra $4 to make it an even $100

Is JL charging PST and GST for Alberta orders? I don't think they are suppose to charge PST and they should only charge GST. The price at $37.97 + gst should be $40.63.
I don't know what JL will charge for shipping either but rest assured its gonna be a better price than JL.

Uh .. I'm a bit confused now. Is the order now just for IO? Or can we specify different salts?

prosnow
04-18-2006, 05:44 AM
well i was trying to get a pallet of IO going here, but since i now just used that very last bit of my salt today, i might have to and just buy some locally here tomorrow :(

Well if you do not want to organize it anymore, I can try to get it going, but we'd have to get it delivered to someone elses house....

Are we now doing IO over that new Seachem salt? I'd like to try that one myself.

if you can take delivery of the salt, it'd probably be best if you did it. But i can do it if you want me to.

So I just talked to Denis at Gold's and he told me that he can get us Seachem Reef Salt for $60 a bucket and that delivery is only a couple of days. He also thinks it is very good salt (comparable to reef crystals).

So that is good enough for me and I am going to get a couple of buckets from him. If others want to post a message that they would like some also, I will pass on an estimate to Denis and get him to put in an order this week.

Well I stopped in at Gold's today and after mentioning the interest in Reef Salt to Denis yesterday, he just went ahead and brought in 6 buckets. They are at the store now, $59.99 as promised. So anyone who wants some can go pick it up now.

Thank you very much Denis, I cant say enough about how happy I am with the effort you and your staff is making to feed my addiction, I mean help my illness, I mean provide great service!

On that note, I wouldnt be surprised if everyone who wanted IO got together and pre-paid for a pallet that Gold's could get it in for the same price as quoted from BC. Maybe someone should look into that.

Have a great day
