New PBS series featuring Jean-Michel Cousteau's look into our oceans....

Saw the first episode tonight. Give it 3 stars out of 5. Only 3 stars because there was too much focus on the crew and not enough of the corals and fish I so expected. Still, the show is well worth viewing.

Yeah, "Black Jack" was cool  So were the sharks at the end of the show. Really liked the bird colony on the island with the runway  The overall tone of the show was aimed toward marine conservation, which is probably going to be the best aspect of watching the series.

To much bird stuff also.

Birds are part of the marine ecosystem both as predators and prey, so they fit well with the show, I thought, especially from a conservation point of view. Plus I'm a huge bird lover, so it would be easy for me to watch marine birds on a marine show. Liked the nudibranchs they showed, especially the one that looked like a series of feater dusters  Do wish they would have shown more detailed shots of various corals, besides those huge and beautiful table acros. Am looking forward to next week, for sure

Also liked the plug for their program "Nature" at the end of the show, which we haven't been watching for awhile. Gonna program the VCR to record that series, as well.
