I ended up getting it made out of town (socalcustoms.com). Expensive but very nice work.

When you get into the bigger tanks the half-inch acrylic is really expensive and you really end up paying way more for materials than for fabrication time. I was surprised.

I've got some small things done at Plexi Klas, mentioned in the thread you linked to. They were very good to do business with, I agree.

Still looking for custom acrylic tank?
How bid are you planning?
If you are planning on a large tank, acrylic is much lighter. However, I always get worried about them scratching and they cost a lot more.
I had a custom 250 gal made. I contacted a gentleman named Nuri at Dr. Fish in Vancouver and they quoted me $30 000 for my setup. I went to a 7/8" glass tank made in Calgary. However, the tank alone was almost 1000 lbs. To bring it into the house, it took 6 men and they almost couldn't lift it onto the stand. I also reinforced my floor with 6"x6" beams in the basement under the tank.
Hope this helps
