Just picked up one of these from OA and glued it to the back of my MagFloat 350 with crazy glue. It scraped away coraline algae like its slime and especially where you can't normally get to with a magnet cleaner. I thought i would have problems controlling it but it was a piece of cake. No need to use those Kent scrapers with stainless steel insert anymore. For 15 bucks, its worth every penny. It has a stainless steel blade that is retractable but instead of leaving it in the scraper, I removed mine, rinse in fresh water and air dried it. If you have problems with coraline algae especially on the edges of your glass, you won't regret getting this nifty device. Such a simple idea but yet so effective.
Unfortunately if you have an acrylic tank, i don't think this will work for you.

I've seen this thing before, but didn't think it would work when looking at the picture. Good score! I'll have to try one since I get alot of coralline growing on my glass :D

Well, they don't fit on the Magnavore....so now I have a useless piece of plastic glued to my magnet. Could there be a blade slightly longer?

I got one, fantastic piece of equipment. Horribly expensive for a piece of plastic and a blade, and it doesn't come with glue even, but worth the price, it eats through any algae or coraline deposits you have.

I just got one of these from ReefWerkz! Dang, it just gets everything off the glass so easily. Worth every penny IMO. (and really not that expensive compared to some of the other crap I've wasted my money on )

Any problems with scratching the glass?

And are they adjustable as far as how far the blade sticks out?

Has anyone seen replacement blades sold for other applications that could be puchaced off the self locally?

I found the thing I was originally looking for, because I had one in the FW tank and just used it one day connected to my large outside magnet in the reef. It was AWESOME. I went looking everywhere for it, including online, but now somehow it popped up again, so I am going to try it once more. I'll let you know how well it works this time.

I've had the easy blade for about 2 weeks now, works GREAT.

However I'm seeing orange RUST creeping out of the sides of where the blade is sandwiched and around where the plastic screw is.

That cant be good?!!

I don't leave mine in the tank for fear of rusting.

I have two magnets, one with the blade attachment that I use weekly, and one without the attachment that I leave in the tank.

I also take the blade off and dry it before storing it.

Anybody found where to buy replacement blades? I remember the instructions said a brand name but I can't remember.

I just picked up one of these babies the other day and WOW! I should have listened earlier, this thing works absolute wonders. My tank is sparkling clean once again!

Anyone find replacement blades yet?

The only replacement blades I have found are by MO. Try Ocean Aquatics.

Stainless steel replacement blades should be available soon.

My problem is that after a while, it's hard to get the blade to sit flush all the way across. Right now, only half of the blade is against the glass, the other half is slightly lifted up aka useless.

Even with the adjustable nylon screw, there's only so much you can 'wiggle' the blade the blade. So that kinda sux.

Other than that, it is still easier to use it in addition to the regular scrapers.

I got mine from OA, and they sell the blades as well.

(Still an awesome product!)

Chin_Lee

just be very careful around the silicone corners. that blade will eventually take that silicone off.

I don't usually rate products .. but dang this is the best purchase I have made in this hobby! Screw the long handle scrappers..they are useless compared to this thing!

I find I end up wanting a new blade after it starts to really rust, I figure a little more iron in the tank wont hurt. not for a 120g. maybe a nano cube but rust isnt really an issue IMO

I have had one of these for a couple of years or more and I am happy with it for scraping off coraline.

For my FW tank I was thinking of getting one of these:

Wondering if anyone has tried this product yet.

I have had mine for well over a year and it still works great. I remove and clean the blade after every use.
I picked up replacement blades last week from Aquatic Addictions. Great product I originally purchased one because the long handled scrapers did not work on my old bow front. Bow front owners dream!
