I doubt it's the cause, but since yesterday while using Canreef at my work computer, I have been getting a couple pop-up's at a time. One for a registry mechanic (which is not installed on this machine, or the previous one I was using) And some other. I usually close them before they get a chance to load.

Anyone else getting it? Or is it just me?

r u using internet explorer if so that is why, or have it running in the back ground. Netscape will do it too.

Scott,

You have to stop going to the booby sites before going to canreef.

I have never had anything like that.

Okay, just curious.

I let canreef idle in the taskbar , maybe that's why.

Either way, no biggy.. just started happening out of no where.

better scan your machine with search and destroy, you might have some spywhere.

Goto http://housecall.antivirus.com, and choose free scan. I personally use this, and it works great. (I am a network Technician and a programmer for over 20 years) I do not use any antispyware, it resides in the background and steals resources, as well as anti virus software. Education is the best resource for not getting viruses and spyware.
Just my 10 bucks, I am a lot more expensive than others! :infinity:

haha, I won't be doing anything with the machine as it's a work computer, I have no admin priveleges, I cannot install things, or scan.

Weird though.. I get the same pop-ups.. not very often either. Hmm..

No booby sites for me guys... sheesh.

not at work anyways... hahah jk

I second that. :D It annoys me when people as "what's the best anti-virus software" and I tell them to stay off the internet, lol

Could be something as simple as a tiny tiny IE window running hidden that is periodically popping up new IE windows through javascript. Check the taskbar and close all IE processes and windows (right click on all IE tasks on the taskbar and click Close). Then relaunch IE and go back to Canreef.
