I have been wearing a wrist watch for years and years and years. Yes, it's true. I am old

Anyway, over a week ago, the Timex watch I've been wearing for the last three years stopped working. Don't know if it just needs a new battery, or if it's gone belly up. But I'm so used to wearing a watch that I've been wearing this broken thing every day since it stopped working. And the funny thing is, in all those days, I keep looking at my wrist to see what time it is   And it's always the same freaking time, which is even funnier, because I sort of expect to be able to tell what time it is whenever I look at this stupid, broken watch!!!!!!! Must be senility setting in

So, let's make this broken watch make us all laugh. I'm throwing this wide open for any and all to guess at what time my watch stopped. If you guess whether it was AM or PM, I would applaud you even more!

Is there a prize for guessing the right, or nearest to the right, time my watch stopped? Hmmm. Don't know how I could get a reef related prize to someone in, say, Vancouver or Regina. But who cares about prizes, right?

Let the guessing begin

It stopped at 1:15 AM. Am I right?

The prize should be a broken watch.

Same thing happened to my wife a while back. She went insane untill I went and got her a new super thin swatch. (Same as the dead one.)

I don't know if I should give hints, or say who is closest, or what.

Okay. I've thought about it.

I think folks can have multiple guesses until we get really really close, because I'm going to say that Scott is closest so far, but is still a long way away.

Also, this watch has a second hand. It is very close to the minute hand, if that is of any assistance to all of you great guessers  Heck, that's no help at all

Keep 'em comin' !!!! I hope you're laughing as much as I am. Great posts!

Should we be guessing down to the second? Haha.

I think Funky is on the right track. Here's what we know...

It's NOT:
1:15 AM
7:00 AM
3:43 PM
7:03 AM
3:48 PM
5:51 PM (Scott)
1:00 PM
1:01 PM
11:59 PM
1:02 PM
8:20 PM
9:12 PM
10:37 PM
10:38 PM

And it's not:
4:20
5:50
9:42
11:11
11:26
1:50
AM or PM for those is out.

Now, Bev said that Scott was *close* in the first few pages, so, it will be *close* to 5:51 PM... Then later she said that Bob was actually close with his posts:

8:20 PM
9:12 PM
10:37 PM

Now, here's an interesting thing about this whole kit and kaboodle... Her watch STOPPED at a specific time and it has a second hand, hence it is an analog watch, not digital, and Timex (to my knowledge) does not make a 24 hr analog watch, AM and PM are indistinguishable... So that narrows down our guessing range from 24 hours to 12.

So......

We know her watch stopped between 5:51 *PM* and 11:59 *PM*. We can take it one step more right now because we know that Bev did NOT say that G1GI was close with 10:38, so Bob was closer with 10:37, so it is now between 5:51 and 10:37.

Finally, Bev said that Scott was sorta close with 5:51, but not really, but Bob was closer with his 3 posts. His posts span about 2 hours, and since OCDP is about 2 hrs away from Bob's, we can omit his all together... So now we are between 8:20 and 10:37... Infact because Bev DIDN'T say that G1GI was close witha guess of 10:38, I would chop off 10:37 and it's around 8:20 - 9:12...

J.L guessed 9:42 (no AM or PM) and Bev didn't say he was close so I would say it is with in twenty minutes of 8:20...

Just a guess, but am I right?

Sorry so long winded, but when I see numbers, I just can't help myself...

-Pauli

I hate to tell Beverley how to run her contest, however, IMHO there should be a cutoff time when the winner is declared. If that is not done the process of elimination will eventually produce a winner. But that is only an opinion.:biggrin:

Well, yesterday we walked over to London Drugs to replace the watch's battery. Battery information was so small, the clerk had to get her magnifying glass out to verify number. Get the right battery, put it in the watch, set my watch to (no I'm not going to have you guess what time) 4:10.

Or so I thought .....

Woke up this morning, did various household tasks, then looked at my watch to see how much time I had to get to my appointment at 11:00. Gads!!!!!! It said 10:20, and I hadn't even bathed yet

Wait a minute (no pun intended  ), I thought, that much time couldn't have gone by so quickly. Sure enough, when I compared watch time to computer time, I had set the watch an hour ahead

ROTFLMAO!!!
