There is also a two part high gloss clear epoxy in the craft section of Rona called Nu-Lustre 55 that works very well. I never did test it in the tank although some users of Reef Central have used it.

ya this stuff is 2 part as well, says it does 30sq feet, but mixing it with sand i can see it doing more then a 90 gal tank..if that
I'll be very interested to see how this turns out. :)

something to try is to put a good coat on and see if it cracks the glass like two part has been knowen to do.

I remember that happening to a guy either on here or reefcentral, I can't remember...it was a big tank too...like 300+ gallons big. and the bottom just shattered. :(

i believe that tank cracked due to, in part, lack of support for the bottom pane and hole placements for the overflow. nobody else ever had it cracked

I recall reading about a few now, two of them were under 50 gal (one was a 20) but I am not sure if it was the same kinda stuff.

I think it was caused by the heat generated by the curing epoxy and the expanding glass that shattered those tanks IIRC. I think the big tank that broke belonged to a guy in Winapeg.

I think it depends on the type of epoxy, some have higher rates of shrinkage than others when curing.

30Sq. Feet would be the coverage with a very thin layer(like, less than 1/8th inch).
I used something called Envirotex-Lite from Home-Hardware.
I recall one guy's tank broke because before the epoxy was fully cured(it was hard, but still generating some heat), he poured cold tap-water in for a water test and it cracked.
