I was bored... haha, enough said. Here's some new pictures of the flame angel, hands down my favourite fish that I have kept. Looking forward to setting up my cube in the future, this fish interacts very well with my fish, which I love to see.. the colours blow my mind. (my camera sucks as stated before, all pics look washed out and blurred... Go Pentax!)

And if my damn shirt wasn't in the reflection, this would have been a really cool picture.

The only thing my Flame likes so far is one frag of red digitata.. phewph. But, that's so far. I intend to keep her belly full, so it doesn't start to get hungry for more.

And just some whatever shots..

Frogspawn, looked mighty nice after a feeding of roids. I took the shot at a bad angle (of course.. )

Red digitata (my flame angel picks at ... looks brownish in the photo, although it's not. This piece is for sale in Calgary because it will only get picked on more... PM me if interested)

This will make a neat colour combo once it spreads more..

Nice shots, thanks for sharing. Those Seio's take up a lot of room! Would they look less obtrusive if they were in the back corners?

The Seio's drive me mad. I have a very difficult time placing them in a way that everything receives a good flow. The SPS get an alternating flow while the LPS get a gentle, moderate flow.. as well as the anemone.

I think it all comes down to my laziness  It just happens to work best this way... because of where corals are placed up top, etc..

I'll take that into consideration though, for a rainy day when I'm feeling bored..haha

The curse of a man without a plumbed system. Iv'e got two seios and a skimmer taking up realestate in my cube and I hate it - I feel your pain! :(

Oh well. I'm used to it.. it's really not as bad as you'd think, especially after you've adjusted and so on.

Scott the tank looks really good man. Love the flame too. When i got mine I couldnt wait to get him in to the tank..

But then all my SPS started to look like crap after 2 weeks or so and guess who did it..

I hope you have better luck then I didi.

i lost all my nice SPS from the flame. ANd most of them went to Doug and Didnt recover from it.. ans my Cap's come to think of it didnt last long either...

GOod luck thanks for sharign the nice arco's you have too...

Thanks Mike.

I realize I took a risk. I think the key thing to do is to keep the belly full. At the same time though, if it wants to nip, it will nip.. regardless of what you do.

I am crossing my fingers.. he only seems to like the digitata. If he does start to nip at all my SPS, I think I'd rather remove all the SPS to keep the fish.. it's pretty sweet.

flame angel in a 20 gallon? Your going to get some serious nippage, dwarf a. need a bigger home in my opinion.

 Thanks.

Plans to upgrade are being made, no worries. You seem pretty certain he'll nip.. how are you so certain?

He's already at adult size.. he won't get any bigger as well, I plan on having a cube built within the next 3-4 months or so, just need to make some plans and prepare.

I think the key is to get a younger one so that they are not use to the corals IMO I could be wrong thou...

That is what i did got rid of the SPs before the fish, Because i loved thr color of the flame in the tank..

it all about the color in the tank....

I agree Mike, a juv. might be better. I know Live Aquaria sells Tank Bred Flames. It's all about the fish.. that's mainly why I setup SW, was for the beauty of the fish, and it just turned into corals, corals, corals. So I think I'd most likely choose the flame over SPS.

I am no way certain that he'll nip, but just from observing my coral beauty, angles like there space and love to graze, if you dont have suffient grazing or "stuff" for the fish to do he's gona take it out on something. These fish love to swim and im glad youre upgrading. IMO getting them tank raised or juv, wouldn't help because he's not learning the habits from the other fish he's just developing his bad habits on his own. It all comes down to tank size and boredom.

JMO good luck

Plans to upgrade are being made, no worries.

I have a dwarf angel in my 4' 120g. He/she's doing well in there. I know you have plans for a cube of some sort from another thread. If possible, for the sake of the angel, try to go with a 3' tank. They need lots of back and forth swimming room.

My coral beauty did very well in my 3ft 50g before I upgraded. But my aquascraping was such that he could swim laps around the live rock, and dart in an out of it. I wouldn't go any smaller for a dwarf angel.

Hmm, I am a little dissapointed in my LFS then. As that was my first question to them "will this fish do well in a 20g?" and sure enough it was a yes.

The tank dimensions will all depend on what will give me the best light in the tank. I do want a cube, and have for a long time. If I go long, then my 150w HQI will not cover a tank like that. Also, the PVC mod I built for the tank is only as wide as my 20g tank stand. Which isn't very long.
