Hi,

Short answer...they are not design to drive the Iwasaki's properly or a standard MH (M58). They are design to drive a special MH called M138. You can try, maybe you can try an old bulb (Darren ?)

As for the 40W PC flourescent ballast, they are fine. Since it is a refugium, I don't think you need a high kelvin lamp...so you could get a cool white(4000K) 40W PC from albrite for $15. I think they are trying to get some 5000K 40W PCs...don't know what the status of that is. According to the data sheet, the ballast is design to drive the 2G11 kind (that's the name of the socket...4 pins that are in a straight line)...the german kind.

- Victor.

Thanks Victor, I will try it out. That is great news for the pc ballast though for me images/smiles/icon_smile.gif I also have about 50-70 22" pc bulbs that fit your exact description with the four inline pins, 40 watt, 4000K they are 22". They will not fit my fixture here but if anybody is interested in one let me know.

I have come across 6 of these http://www.venturelighting.com/Ballast%20Frame%20Page.htm uniform pulse start system, model # V90J8410 250 watt ballasts, and 2 of these http://www.venturelighting.com/Ballast%20Frame%20Page.htm uniform pulse start system model # V90J7210 175 watt ballasts. Will these fire Iwasaki's, the 250's that is?
I have also found one of these http://www.advancetransformer.com/ecom_PDFS/out/10252926181.pdf Will this work for a refugium light?
