Hey Joel,

A cute little one. You will have to fatten the little one up though he's looking really skinny.

Also it could be just the picture, reflection of light...but looks as though the little guy has some red through his back tail fin. Something to watch out for, you dopnt want it to get any worse if this is the case. It's a common "Red Streak" issue, bacterial infection. Either way, keep an eye on the little buddy. Keep good water quality & make sure to feed this guy his nori greens & spirlina flakes.

He's a cutie!

Thanks for the observation Lee :) I just picked him up thursday, he was scratchin a bit the first night, but he seemed to have stopped now.

he didnt touch nori yet, but i put some macroalgae in with him and he munches on that all day, he also ate some mysis last night. I'm gonna start feeding lots of garlic and mysis mixed with flake.

The garlic is a good idea! But, if he isn't taking to nori yet I would also soak the mysis and (veg) flake in garlic and marine -C . Both a Kent product.
great looking regal !!!

No problem Joel. Yeah I would just keep an eye on him, keep water quality high, so he grows big and strong. Hehe

He's a cutie though! Nice stag!

How big do ya figure he is, loonie or toonie size?

he was scratching a lil bit about a day after i got him, so I did several water changes, and he stopped scratching, was eating. He had no signs of Ick, no spots/marks or anything. This was my first fish loss in about 10 months. :(

sg is at 0.009

This can't be healthly for the fish.

The smaller they are, the harder they are to care for. Quarter sized hippos are cool, but chances of survival are 50/50.

0.009 is a lot better than the ich he came home with

dont you mean 1.009, if it was like 0.009 he'd be dead, or you'd have him converted to fresh water
