Green liquid from a snail

I have never seen this before, and was not quick enough to grab my camera, but this afternoon I witnessed a stream of green liquid coming out of an astrea snail, the stream lasted for a good 4+ seconds.

Any clue?

I've seen this before; I assume it is a <ahem> natural function.
