we started the task of installing our tank into the wall. It's in the wall that connects my office to the fish room.

Looks good man. I can't wait til i start my new 250 gal tank that will be going in where my old 280 was in stead of 72x30x30 It will be 96x24x24 sorry 240 i want the lenght...

Well we at least cleaned up some of the huge pile of drywall..... hoping to do a bit more tonight. Anyone wanna help? :D

Updated pic, from inside the fish room... ripped out the drywall, started to frame the opening. getting ready to take out a few studs and cut the rest of the opening out.

its gettin there! hope to be done the stand this week sometime... then we'll need to borrow some canreefers to help move the tank!

Speaking from experience , I would say that the reason i did it is for the shelf look .
And it looks really finished and you dont get the space between the tank and the trim. Like mine does. i pe to d y tnesk withthe ledge I like tem that way...

Asmodeus, I deleted my post :).
My post was asking why the tank was recessed, but I am not sure if it is or not anymore.
Is your tank going to be recessed in the wall or right up against the drywall?

It's going to be recessed, with a ledge/shelf in front of it, instead of the boring flush with drywall with trim look.

I happen to like the "boring" look, like a living picture hanging on the wall.
The shelf look works too of course!

It will be awesome, you will see.... i'm deciding what material to use for the ledge... i think I want stone of some type ;)
