Nope, not back, have been watching developments pretty closely ... I am due to fly back the day after landfall.

So far, Air Canada has told me to sit tight and wait for them to call but at this point they're not even talking about delays (yeah, right). I will be surprised if it goes ahead.

Never seen a hurricane before, this could be fun...

Hello,

The ones in HK, or Asia in general, are called Typhoons. I wonder what is the difference. But I envy you dude for being able to experience first hand!

I think (although not 100% positive) that the difference is that one is over the Pacific and one is over the Atlantic, but exactly the same phenomenon otherwise.

Hi,

Actually, the international date line determines if it is a Typhoon or a Hurricane. West of the date line are Typhoons and east are called Hurricanes. Typhoons are worse because they have more ocean space to gather up more wind and rain.

I have been through a Typhoon...definitely no fun.

Good Luck !

- Victor.

I, um, decline to answer that question at this time on the grounds that it may place me in the doghouse for quite some time to come ... ;)

Hello,

Gosh I missed those times when I used to have to close all the windows and see objects or debris flying in space.

Um... marriage sounds like to be a pain. I guess no marriage for me afterall. :D
