View Full Version : String worms?
I notice when I turn my lights on in the AM.. there are these really stringy-fuzz like things in my tank. They are pretty long.. and remind me of a very thin, long piece of fuzzy string.
Does this sound like some type of worm to you all? They are a big eye sore, thankfully I do not USUALLY see them during the day.
Weird little creatures (if they even are creatures..)
Are they reddish? They could be spaghetti worms. They're a harmless scavenger.
No , they are more like a grey/whiteish colour, actually.

They're probably digitate hydroids. I have no idea whether they're good or bad. I'm hoping for the former as I have about a billion in my tank

It can become a problem in some tanks, but it hasn't in either of mine. Reef-safe-ish. :)
I have a bunch of those as well.
I find them rather neat looking and haven't done any harm so far.
Alrighty.. good stuff. At least I'm not the only one with them. Just was getting curious as to what they were.. more and more keep poppin' up!

Don't most, or all, hydroids sting? That can't be good.
That wouldn't be good at all. I'm hoping they aren't bad.
