My lovely gf Diana was kind enough to lend her talents and redecorate my 110 gallon. She also ordered me some sea whips(tall structures in the background). Thanks baby!

That looks fantastic. I love those sea whips - are they actually alive and if so are they hard to keep?

Nice tank:mrgreen:
The seawhips are not alive unfortunately....my triggers and puffers would have a feast if they were.
The niger trigger does however love to rest in the whips.....its amusing to watch :)
Thats an awesome tank! the sea whips really make it!
Any idea where someone could some of those?

I ordered some dead sea fans from someone on Ebay.com last time. Live corals can't be shipped from the States though.
Beautiful tank there. Good job Raf & Diana.

Hey guys...
I ordered the sea whips from http://www.seacorals.com. However I DO NOT reccommend ordering from them. Find another source... it was a pain in the butt for me to order from them. Not only did it take several weeks for them to AKNOWLEDGE that I had placed an order... but it took almost 2 months for them to even ship the whips. AND THEN to top it all off they sent me the wrong ones, the cheaper of the two, and I have yet to hear back from them, and if they are going to credit me the difference (granted its not very much, but still, they have to).
All in all, not worth the hassel.

I've always found the FOWLR tanks "missing" something...but seeing this tank, with the sea whips added...makes me want one now LOL!
Thanks for sharing!

Hey Raf do you have any shots of the Vanuatu rock,
I was thinking of using some when i set up up my 115.
How are the shapes and was there much life on it?
Did you get it from J&L?
Its actually a mix of vanuatu and fiji... but I think its mostly vanuatu.
The vanuatu I got from Big Als and the Fiji came from King Eds. Its more intricately shaped, lighter rock than the Fiji. It had quite a bit of life on it but in a fish only setup they picked most of it away anyways. Also I had to medicate the tank a few times which took more of the life off. Out of all the rock I've had, Jakarta has been the best in terms of shape and life.

I like the Vanuatu rock for its shape and life. Mine has started a bit of coraline growth since I got it on boxing day. It also had some various macro's on it.
Some of the tanks inhabitants.

Love that porcupine puffer. My wife loves those but they need to eat stuff like little shore crabs to stay healthy I think. Otherwise their jewel-like eyes go dull & many of them get sick. There must be something in the shell that they need, but this is a theory told to me by an old time fishguy & I've seen & heard other evidence that it may be true. What does your little puffer eat?

Perfect I'll feed him that little bastard crab I found in my reef tank wooo!
He's eating mainly large chunks of krill, brine, mysis, etc. He wont eat NLS hehe. We give them an occational mussel or clam as well.
Could we feed him little crabbies we find on the beach? I have a beach a couple minutes walk from my house with tons of little crabbies.

Yeah, as long as the beach you collect them from is clean. I've used shore crabs to feed my fish in the past. If you're not sure, set up a small tank of clean water outside or in a cool area & let the crabs stay there for a while to "detox" :) Yeah, those nasty hitchhiker crabs should make a nice treat in your fowlr.
