Matt
02-04-2006, 04:19 PM
I'm going to give OA a call this morning and try to catch a couple of items before the local vultures ... er ... fellow reefers take all the goodies. Any interest in a quick group order forming up?

Last Saturday... but some nice stuff came in and I didn't get all the stuff I wanted last week... and some people couldn't get in on it due to timing... and (hey, waitaminute - I don't need an excuse!).

Trying to work it out for next Saturday AM, but have held some items at OA hoping to get it going.

I'm interested in Live goods this time.

Haha, isnt another order just demonstrative of the addicting powers of our wonderful hobby?

I'd go in on a group order, looking for a yellowhead jawfish, if someone else wants one they're only 38 bucks each, maybe a couple of frags too.

Good to go! OA is ready to ship Saturday morning (likely around 10:25, as last time). Cutoff for orders is Friday @ 6pm.

Phone or email your orders to OA directly, tell them it is for the Edmonton Group Order.

Matt, is delivery going to your house? How do we split shipping costs?

Sorry, my first "group" experience lol

Saturday works perfect for me, I will be around before dinner hour.

Hi,

The drill is this: We meet at the WestJet Cargo terminal and split the order up onsite. If you are unable to get out there, arrange with one of the others to hold your stuff. I'm happy to float bags in my sump if anyone needs me to - or you may be able to find someone close to your neighborhood.

Matt

Alrighty. I will be able to make it to the terminal.

How is shipping costs divided though?

I assume that the terminal is at the international. What time would the flight be coming in?

Yes at the international, westjet cargo is just before you get to air canada cargo if you know where that is.

I still need to know what time to see if I can make it or not.

You better not be after my frags Muck!

How is their fish quality? As good as J&L? I usually only buy from stores I have seen, but if people have good experiences with OA I would consider some fish too.

Ordered a Yellow Coris Wrasse once from them and it was top notch!!
Have seen others fish come in on orders as well and all looked beautiful and super healthy.

I might have to add a few fish to the order then.

Has anyone gotten any emails back yet?

Matt
02-09-2006, 05:37 PM
No... and though I've spoken with Wendell a couple of times and sent an email asking for confirmation that the order is a "go", I haven't been swamped with confidence.

I just phoned, and James is sick today, so I can't get more than I've got.

I'm prepared to scuttle it...

I got an email last night from James saying he was too busy yesterday to get to my requests and he would do it tommorrow (today). But if he is sick today...

Maybe we should try for next week or weekend?

fishspun

I havent heard back yet either via email...but I guess if he is ill, perhaps next weekend would be best?

Im good with whatever week, I haven't heard back yet on my e-mail for about 8 coral frags.

If I get an e-mail today or tommorow, I would like to still bring in an order for Sat. morning.

Hello Guys,
The order date is up to you. I can do this Saturday or next Saturday. ( I have Caribbean (Jawfish) next week, and maybe more coral)

I apologize if people haven't recieved responses. (You can use request reader response in your email options to ensure we've read it) Please ensure that you are emailing to the correct address:
james@oceanaquatics.com
For Livestock
wendell@oceanaquatics.com
For Equipment and Dry good orders.

I am out of the shop today, but I still check my emails. I have only recieved orders from Matt A, Ryan M, and Rory.
When you email me please specify you are reffering to the Edmonton Group order.
Orders are not considered placed until a payment method (eg:visa, MC, & Paypal).
Orders can be placed by Phone, email, or on our website. They must be recieved and paid for by 6pm Friday for Saturday arrival.

Edmonton Airport arrangements are made by the person that initiates the group order. The shipment will be in their name.
Please do not open the order until they have arrived.

I respond to my emails usually within 24 hours. I'm a bit confused as to some of the people saying they haven't recieved a response. If you don't get a response within 24 hours, please call the store. 1-800-605-0914. Your email may have been lost or misplaced. Do not send order requests by Canreef PM's as I can't guarantee I get them.

As to the questions of fish quality. My standard is that if the fish is not perfect before packing it doesn't ship, period. I would rather short a customers order than ship unsatisfactory product. If I have a similiar item I will often ask if they would accept a substitution. If you have further questions please call me at the store.

Thank you
James

What time is the shipment set to arrive at the airport?

I'm getting some cables on the shipment (James couldn't get the fish) but now I'm told the kids got a dentist appointment same time.

Could someone bring them into town for me, ideally someone who's part of the group salt order as I'm involved in that also.

Mark

TheReefGeek
02-10-2006, 08:49 PM
What kind of cables? Where abouts are you in e-town? I am not in the group salt order, but could hold onto your cables if it helps, I am in the West End.

I have placed my order with James, he said the shipment arrives 10:25am and paperwork is usually finished to release the goods around 11:00am.

Murray, give James a call, they have a 1-800 number on their website so it is free.

You have to phone in for your order anyways, but he appologizes that some e-mails seem to have dissapeared, or gone to wrong addresses, etc.

Matt

I just spoke with James @ OA. He's shipping for 10:25am delivery Saturday. We should meet around 11am at the WestJet Cargo terminal.

If you're in on the order, but unable to pick up there, please let me know. I can float or hold for you for a while.

If you want in on the order, call James @ 1-800-605-0914 before 5pm today. Only orders confirmed and paid for will be shipped, of course.

I think there's 3 or 4 of us in so far.

Regards,
Matthew

Thanks Rory for the offer, hoping someone who ordered salt could bring them in though as would save me some running around.

Cables are to go between PFO pendant and ballasts.

BTW salt is in, trying to sort out a time with Craig.
