Just a pic for ideas in DIY acrylic tube cutting jigs.

-the plywood sacrificial jig is double T-slotted for length setting
-square jig end for squaring up tube that wasn't previously cut straight and square
-adjustable back support for cutting different dia tube
-sloppy cutting wood burn for beauty effect

thats a nice miter jig:mrgreen: one suggestion for your tube cutting jig is to make your end larger. you need it to be a little bigger than the biggest tube you are going to cut as you have to ensure if you are cutting your tube and it has a high spot it has to remain in contact at all times with your end plate to ensure the cut stays strait.

I think you are right about increasing the size of the end plate. So far I have only tried 6" tube. It's kind of nice to have no more fear cutting tube. One can even cut with one hand.
The miter slide is very accurate and adjustable. No wiggling in the table slot. Found it at LeeValley.
