Hi all,

I'm about to convert from my existing 108gal tank to a 72gal RR bowfront.

I'm only getting the tank and stand, so a new canopy will be required.

I built a canopy for my existing 108 and installed the lighting into it as well as a couple fans. Although I'm no carpenter, it was pretty easy as it was a rectangle.

But has anyone built a canopy for a bowfront? As I said, I'm not much of a carpenter so how difficult would it be to create the bow?

And my other question is, the tank is 48" long, and I have an Icecap 660 with 4 - 48" tubes. Will it be possible to fit the 48" tubes, or do I have to go out and buy all new 46.5" tubes?

I am in the process of building my Stand an canopy for mt 28 gallon Bow. I built the basic frame out of 2x4's, and the front part out of 2x6's. These are not my pictures, but are from who I copied from.

I used 1/8 inch hardboard for the front, as the frame for the canopy was all built out of 2x4's ripped in half.

I am waiting to get the maple wood veneer to put over top of everything, to match my floors.

I built the canopy so the front swings open like this (Again not my pictures)

I did not incorperate the doors into my design, it seemed too "fussy"

This is how it will look after my veneer is applied:mrgreen:

I retro fitted some halides in an oceanic hood.
