i'm building a new system right now and still undecided on a couple of parts
mainly the motherboard and ram so i need some help/suggestions.
i'm switching back again to the 64 athlon chips as i've pushed this intel3.2e to the max. so anyways here are the main components
Antec Sonata II Case Piano Black[no psu]
Ocz 600watt PSU
AMD Opteron 148 with the CABYE stepping
2x 16X DVD Drive/Burner
2x EVGA 7800GTX 256MB
so heres the part i'm having issues with
for the motherboard
DFI LANParty NF4 SLI-DR ATX S939 NFORCE4 SLI DDR 2PCI-E16 SATA2 RAID Sound GBLAN 1394 Motherboard [Great motherboard]
or
DFI LANParty UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert ATX S939 NFORCE4 SLI DDR 2PCI-E16 SATA RAID Sound LAN Motherboard [Even better motherboard but some issues of killing cpus by sending 3+volts to the cpu core]
and heres another issue i'm having
i want to put in 2GB of ram thats capable of running at low timmings and be able to clock at high fsb.
should i go for the
Mushkin Redline PC4000 2gb?
or the OCZ Platinum EB PC4000
or should go differ route??
and oh yeah do you guys know where i can get some deals on these? heheheh
*cough* bcwolfen?

you might want to check out this place, really good

http://www.ncix.com

what about HD?
i would get 2 HD
WD raptor 74GB. partation the HD C: for your os and D: for all your programs you will want to install.
and the other drive can be your storage drive.

as for mother boards. sataII is alot faster. but i'm not sure what HD supports it as of now. heard the new raptor just came out.

but u should really check out http://www.hardocp.com and read their forums there.
lots of good info.

The two cheapest places I know of are:

http://www.atic.ca
http://www.anitec.ca

Both in the lower mainland. Haven't actually been in to the anitec store, but have been to atic a couple times. Don't expect anything close to customer service though. But I still haven't found cheaper prices then them.
