ran a batch of tests tonight and the only one out of line was ammonia.
what are the ways to reduce this to 0?
ive got water batching for a water change tomorrow.
will running carbon help?
cranking up the skimmer to get lighter and more skimmate?

& i've cut back feeding. i didnt think i was feeding heavy but will cut back more
any other ideas??

thanks
rob

Carbon should pull out the ammonia...check for decomposing fish or food. Water change should help but need to make sure u know what the root of the problem is.

You are right about cutting the feeding until u figure out what was causing the spike.

i added a sea cucumber 2 weeks ago, it was visiable the first few days but havent seen hide nor hair of it since.
hope the crabs and shrimp would clean it up if thats the case.....

I used to have a Hagen kit that would give me 0.25 ammonia all th etime, even on RO water. Maybe double check your kit against another.
