Hi All,

I have a 20" Coralife Aqualight fixture on my 10G that I would like to put on top of a new 20G tank (24" long). If I was to buy Aqualight legs for it, would they extend 2 inches on each side and allow me to put my 20" hood on a 24" tank? I would rather do this then just lay the fixture right on my glass versa-hood as I would be concerned about the glass cracking and the fixture falling into the tank! If it won't work, can you think of any other way to do this? Thanks so much for your help!

It depends on the coralife legs you use, I have two different styles and just tried them out for you. The one set it pretty long and will work no problem at all, the other set is a little shorter and with the legs all the way at the end it just barley fits 24 inches.

Thanks so much for the prompt reply audiophile! So do you think even with the shorter legs, my 20" fixture will fit securely and safely on a 24" tank?

It's REALLY tight with the short legs http://www.aquarium-supply.biz/products/Coralifeblacklegs.jpg

I have the long ones below on my 20" powerquad (I don't think it says they are for all fixtures but they are on my light and work fine.)they extend like crazy becuase they are longer and have two mounting points for the screws. I would for sure get these ones and not the short ones.

I've got a Coralife fixture (2x96w) that been resting on the glass braces for over a year without problems.
