I just loaded up the new Windows XP and I am getting the Plus for it today. You should see the cool aquarium screen saver. My friend also indicated that you can purchase additional fish of the internet?? Don’t know how yet.

The aquarium has corals and a couple of fish, I think a Trigger and an Angel.

Anybody else have Windows XP?

Cheers,
Patrick

Yes, that's Serene Screen. You can get more detail here:

http://www.fish-byte.com/

And the fan site:

http://www.feldoncentral.com/Sachs/index.html

Its available on Windows 2000 and Windows 9X/ME as well.

Also, you should be able to have any 2 fish on the list, not just the trigger and angel.

Or you can download the full version on Kazaa or WinMX and have ALL the fish....

Mouahhahaaaa.....

PS.. Mine has all the same fish as in my tank, so when it comes on it's like looking at my real tank! tongue.gif

Hey have you guys had any problems with the new version? I was running it on my computer at work with win98 and it was freezing my computer as soon as it came on so I uninstalled it. I still have the old version at home so maybe I will stick with that.

Hi,

Sounds like a software library (DLL) conflict between a new/old version loaded by the screen saver and your existing DLL collection.

This is one of the tougher problems to solve on the windows plafform (other than corrupt registry, sys directory disappearing, DLL problems and etc) -- and keep the screensaver off of the machine. Your best bet is to reload the screensaver and disable from the start->control pannel->display (or desktop).

If that doesn't work...then its reimage time or its time to go to www.windowsupdate.com (http://www.windowsupdate.com) and bring your entire system's DLL up to the most recent version.

Hope that helps.

- Victor.

This is weird. I have my video card onboard and Windows XP says I can’t install the screen saver cause I need a 16MB video card. I have one but no friggin room to install ( can we say cheap computer ). So I downloaded the version previously mentioned and it is the same one and it works.

So why won’t it work using the XP Pro Plus version but it does on the download version?

Pretty cool looking screen saver though.
