Wondering which is better, the polished metal such as PFO or the pebble type Hamilton uses?

Considering DE pendant by each company.

depends what you want for a final result, the pebble type will act as a diffusing reflector and the other one won't. so the pebble will give you a more even lighting at a lost of some intensity.

Thanks guys.

Guess not totally sure what I want other than light in the tank, but could I for example, keep a clam on the sand in a 24" deep tank with a 250w DE and diffuse reflector.

The article I would like to get is reference 8 from this article http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/mar2003/feature.htm but link is dead. It discusses specular vs diffuse.

Anyone here know if the difference between the new and old PFO mini pendant was just reflector type? Looking at table 3 from the article forwarded by Harvey there's quite a difference in the amount of PAR for the same distances.
