So I currently have a 72 gallon bow front tank with 4*55 watt powercompact lighting and 4*24watt T5s. The colors are 2 atinc and 2 10000k on the powercompact and 2 atinic and 2 7000k?(not 10000k) on the t5s.

I would like to upgrade my lighting to a Metal halide system in the next few months as i don't like the look of my current lights.

I was thinking of getting ether a 48 inch aqualight pro ( 2 power compact and 2 150watt MH) or 2 250watt hamilton pendents with 14000k bulbs and possibly suplimententing it with my current t5 system, maybe changing the white bulbs to 10000k.

I mainly keep zoos, and mushrooms, but i would love to try my hand at maybe a little bit of SPS(not a lot), and a higher light clam. Do you think I am going over board with the lighting? or would ether of these plans work? Which do you think is better the aqualight or the pendents?

I've saw that there are aqualight clip on pendents that are 150watt and come with 20000k bulbs? has anyone tried those before?

your help would be greatly appreciated :)

very confused Eric

the 20000k bulbs are not going to pack the punch that a 10000k would but if they were 250w there would be no problem..are the 2 power compact and 2 150watt MH HQI's??? if so, one of the HQI 150s will pack almost the same punch as the 250MH. PM me if i didnt answer your question!!!lol

How deep is the tank?

i think my tank is about 22inches deep. Its a All-Glass 72 gallon bow front.

Apparently the aqualight is 150 HQI for the MH.

I saw that a 250watt version of the aqua light pro ihas come out, but i don't think its avaliable in Canada yet. Do you think it would be better to just wait for that one to become avaiable here? I'm going to guess that its HQI as well.
