Just out of curiousity... Is anyone in the vancouver area interested in a 1 inch red/pink mantis shrimp?
Thanks.
I would love to take it but if you won't ship would have to hold it until I come down at Christmas.

This is where Ivy says "Suckers, you can't have it," and we all shake our fists with grave resolve to give her dirty looks from now henceforth.

I have a frying pan, butter and some garlic.
As the saying goes.... it probably tastes like chicken.

hah.. actually.. I found him 2-3 weeks ago while rumbling around in my office tank. I feel he should have a better home than a 1g Azoo Tank so thought I'd put the feelers out to see if anyone would be able to offer him the luxurious life he deserves :)
On another related note, we found a pure black mantis in WWWD's tank last night. around 2 inches... I have to say tho, my red one is more playful and actually comes out during the day. and by that I mean.. he runs around screaming when I poke wooden skewers into his cave to see if he's still alive...
.. no.
I'm not mean.

Are these pics of the mantis or just ones that look like him?
If anyone has a peacock mantis we'd be all over it

Sorry. the little bigger is too fast to get anything but a blurry picture! He's that color with black dots on his sides...
Still cute as hell.
