Good day,

I used to run my 18 watt uv sterilizer on my fluval 404. I have had some problems with the fluval recently so its sitting in the basement, going to be used for spare parts. Since i do not have a sump, is there any other way i could run a line to the sterilizer and back? Maybe using powerheads? Pump?

Let me know if you have any ideas!

Thanks

Steve

Power heads work great. Just find out what flow the UV unit is rated for then find a power head with the same or close flow. You can also use a bigger power head and a ball valve to slow down the flow.
MJ 600, 900, or 1200 would probably work fine.

Hope this helps
Cheers

Thanks for the suggestions. What kind of tubing should i use?

I am going to have the run the powerhead from the tank, to the floor, and then back up into the tank again. Is one powerhead going to be able to do this?

Thanks

Steve

If your using a maxijet I would use the Maxijet 1200 for sure in that case.

Yes if you are running it that far use the 1200 just use the clear tubing you can buy at most hardware stores or pet store
