Its coming to be that time of year, insurance renewal time, and I was wondering who everyone insured their tanks with, and what does it cover?

Anyone have any insurance experiance?

Vanreefer,

So if your tank breaks and water damage results is EVERYTHING covered? By everything I mean the tank contents, fish, etc?

I don't believe it covers livestock... but all equipment and the tank is insured as well as the damage to the building

Mine covers house (damage) and equipment (loss), no lifestock or contents.

Does that cost extra on your regular policy

If you're in a condo, does it cover damage to other people's property?

The way I understand the my insurance is that if the tank breaks and you ar renting or cause damage to someone else's propety(ie.condo) then your insurance covers ithe damage. When I talked to my insurance company I am covered for livestock as well. They will need a list of your stock and pics. And I keep my receipts of everything I buy. There is my 2 pennies.

My policy does.
I checked with my insurance company to be sure.
Covers leakage, breakage, resultant damage.
Everything but lost livestock.

Hmmm. Brings to mind a question. I wonder if Live Rock would be covered?
You'd think so 'cause it is basically an inert substance. Just has live stuff in and on it is all.

My carrier covers everything.

It will very from company to company.
Some will only cover so many gallons, others dont care.
Best thing to do is chat with your agent and be specific about what you are looking to have covered. One thing that is constant on all policies is the resulting damage from a leak is covered but the cause of the leak will not be.

SISIP is financial planning etc. The Personal is an actual insurance company for the military,RCMP and other Government employees.
